7月17日下午1點，Ritch Lau 劉肇麟團隊在萬錦市第二區的王府井商場舉辦名為 「有你鼓勵！籌款演唱會暨選民見面會」的大型競選造勢活動。Ritch 在開場演說中重點提及作爲市議員候選人，政治知識及個人質素的重要性。Ritch從事新聞專業長達超過15年，負責採訪每届的聯邦，省級和市級選舉，作爲新聞主播及記者，必須每天留意政府的政策宣布和撥款，明白到三級政府職能的分別。作為一名高質素的市議員候選人，他不會胡亂承諾屬於聯邦或省政府負責的議題。Ritch認爲，選民看候選人的政綱和演說內容就能看清楚一名候選人究竟是否有真才實學，還是誇誇其談，打算投機取巧拿取議員的席位。 Ritch坦言，36歲的他可能是眾多候選人之中最年輕的一位，但也是二區擁有最多公共政策及社區經驗的候選人。他强調自己是一名準備充足，隨時能上任市議員職位的優秀人選。Ritch在競選宣言中以簡單易明的方法，清晰地講解市府運作。他感謝多年的好友，多倫多都會大學（Toronto Metropolitan University）講師陳捷鏗先生和他共同編寫針對萬錦市市政的「璀璨城市 Bright City 」計畫。 首先，全國正經歷前所未有的通貨膨脹，百物騰貴導致市府開支也有所增加。過去幾年萬錦市曾以凍結地稅而聞名，但最近一次財政預算案卻要被逼增加地稅，證明市府必須精明地使用納稅人的金錢。所以，Budget（預算）就變得更加重要。而像萬錦市一樣的Big City（大城市），就必須要一個Bright Plan（精明的計劃）才能打造我們共同享有的Bright City（璀璨的城市）。Ritch認爲們的賦稅應該放在幾個市政重點： Ritch認爲，必須善用市府的Budget，才能打造我們的美好的 C.I.T.Y. Community & Road Safety 社區及道路安全 Increase Recreational & Green Spaces 增加文娛康樂設施及綠色空間 Traffic & Public Transit 交通及公共運輸 Youth Development & Seniors Support 青少年發展、關懷老人生活 這次的活動得到了多位本地社區領袖及名人站台大力支持. Ritch誠懇地解釋，一個人的力量有限，萬錦市是由不少僑領和優秀的人才，花了多少的時間和心血建設起來。所以特別感謝各位前輩的鼓勵與支持： 王府井購物中心董事、多倫多國泰獅子會前會長郭永雄Dundas Kwok。Ritch表示王府井是二區最大型的商場，自己住在該商場附近，所以在競選之前已經舉辦多次社區活動，希望能增加人流，支持本地商戶。 Ritch感謝錦綉中華商場執行董事Terrance Ma，人稱“馬老闆”的Terence不但熱心公益，而且非常鼓勵華人及年青領袖參政，是一位令人尊敬的好友。（右為抗癌正能量女神歌手Amy Tang） Ritch感謝資深音樂人Lal Dayaram林振業，Lal爺曾是多位華語天王天后的經紀人，包括鄧麗君，王菲，張惠妹等。Ritch笑言自己當不了明星歌手，所以Lal爺才培養他成爲政壇新星。適逢活動當天17日是Lal爺的生日，Ritch和活動主持人Eugene張嘉濼特別為Lal師傅送上生日蛋糕為他老人家慶生。 ME & Lau 基金會創辦人劉庭嘉Edward Lau。Ritch笑言兩人雖同姓劉，但卻沒有親戚關係，但很欣賞Edward創辦慈善基金會，每年為智障人士提供獎學金及各種援助，是華人社區為弱勢社群非常難得的聲音及領導者。 退休探長苗延建Raymond Miu。Ritch表示，政綱中排首位就是社區安全，他非常敬佩苗探長退休之後沒有選擇獨善其身，反而是繼續投身社區，在退休之後帶領社區關注罪案協會CCAA，和副會長Peter […]
